Questions & Answers

Q. Where are your showrooms?
A. In my villa at 21 Ariki Street, Grey Lynn, Auckland. Also, if you refer to the retail page of this website you will see the WORLDbeauty store locations listed. This is a joint venture that I have with Denise L’Estrange – Corbet and Francis Hooper of WORLD and you can buy my antique pieces in these stores.
Q. Do you operate within retail hours?
A. Yes although I am open by appointment only (Tuesday to Friday 10.000am to 6.00pm. Saturdays 10.00 to 2.00pm). I am closed on Sundays and Mondays.
Q. Why are you open by appointment only?
A. As I operate on a residential street, I am obliged by council regulations to open by appointment only. However the advantage of this is that I can give personalised attention to each client.
Q. Are you open to the public?
A. Yes I am . I also work with interior designers but basically anyone who is interested like I am in French antique, mid century and original industrial furniture and decoratives.
Q. If I make an appointment, am I obliged to buy something?
A. Absolutely not. I operate effectively like a retail business, it is just that I see customers one by one or several if you are all together.
Q. Is parking available?
A. If there is no parking on the street, you can park over my driveway (outside the double gates).
Q. Is it OK to just turn up without an appointment?
A. No, as I am a one person business and I may be out visiting a client, delivering stock etc and you may be disappointed to find no one answers the door.
Q. Do you offer layby?
A. Yes I do. I offer a 2 month layby period. The initial deposit is 30% of the value of the item to be purchased.
Q. How can I pay?
A. By Cash, Cheque, EFTPOS, Credit card (Mastercard or Visa) by telephone payment or on site. Also internet bank transfers are an option.
Q. How can I find out in advance when a new shipment is due to arrive?
A. Simply fill in the contact form on the website and you will be added to my customer base so that you can be kept informed of news and shipments.
Q. Do you deal in reproduction furniture?
A. No I don’t. All my pieces are antique, vintage industrial or mid century pieces.
Q. How many shipments do you bring in a year?
A. Generally two every six months or so.
Q. If I am looking for a specific item of furniture can you source this item for me?
A. Yes, I do source for clients. All you need to do is to be specific about what are you looking for (photos always welcome) and let me know and I will do my best to find it for you.
