Chic in Milan – Marchesi

10 Nov 2015

I know its not France but….according to Habitually Chic one of the best places you can visit in Milan is Pasticceria Marchesi who just opened during fashion week but has actually been around since 1824. The historic Milanese pastry shop was recently bought by Prada and in addition to the original landmark location at Via Santa Maria alla Porta, 11a, they have opened a new pastel colored jewel box at the fashionable Via Monte Napoleone, 9. You can grab a coffee at the stand up bar or sit down for lunch, that is if you can find a seat. It’s so popular already that I could only buy the little boxes candies to go for gifts. Marchesi sandwiches and cakes are also available at Bar Luce at Fondazione Prada where I did get to eat during my trip. I can attest that both places are definitely worth visiting. The chantilly cake we had at Bar Luce was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had and I hope that someday they open a Marchesi in New York.
